This unique Sterling Silver finding allows for adjustable length necklaces without needing to tie a sliding knot. The finding has a tube on one side, then the other side looks like a tube but really is a cord end. To use the finding slip one finding on each end of your cord, using the tube side of the finding. The cut end of the cord goes into the cap side of the finding on the opposite side. You must glue the cord into the cap side of each finding, being careful not to get glue in the tube side. When all is completed the necklace will be adjustable, as if a sliding knot was present. These Sliding Tube Ends work for cord with a diameter of 1.3mm to 1.5mm. The overall size of the finding is about 7.5x6mm. Made from Sterling Silver. Sliding tubes are sold by the pair.
Tip: If your cord is a bit thin and slides through the finding too easily you can adjust this finding. Using a flat nose (non-serrated) plier, very gently flatten the tube side of each finding so that it is slightly oval shaped. A very small adjustment should improve the friction within the tube enough to provide the right amount of tension.
If your cord is a bit hard to thread through the tubes, cut a taper or angle at the end of your cord. After it is threaded through the tube, cut the end off evenly before gluing into the capped tube.
Sterling Silver Pinch End caps with hook ends are perfect to finish any cord design with. These caps are used with 1.5-2mm cord. Matching loop ends available.
